Professional teaching experience.

 

  • An experienced teacher, tutor and performer who incorporates working practice into lessons and develops pupils skills to and beyond the requisite standard in an enthusiastic, versatile and appropriate manner that maximises student potential. 

  • Worked with a range of groups including: age 5 to 17 in schools up to and including Higher pupils, adult learners in a community environment, nursery music, college students. Believes in education for building confidence as well as learning new skills giving necessary tools for performing as a soloist or part of an ensemble in a range of styles and towards ABRSM exams.

  • Enjoys learning from students as much as developing their skills. 

  • A mature, thorough but informal teaching style as well as having a constructive and effective working relationship with staff, pupils and parents.

(featured track on the compilation album “Sugar Valone”), Vocalist and flautist on Steve Brookstein’s album and UK tour.

  • Session flautist including Maxi Priest album 2019.

  • Support artist for Courtney Pine.

  • Haddo House Choral Society Orchestra.(flute/piccolo)

  • 18th Century Scottish Classical Concerts (Flute/Voice) 

  • Flute/piccolo for many Amateur Dramatic shows including Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and Jesus Christ Superstar plus leading roles in various productions.

  • Pianist for The Lorne Scottish Dance Band. (1988 to 1997) Live BBC Radio Scotland recordings for“Take the Floor”/albums and performances abroad including in Brazil, Zambia, Holland and France.
